Should I get a policy with higher daily benefits, higher life time maximum benifits, nursing home only or nursing home and other types of care? It is all so complicated and I just need some simple answers as how to get the most for my money.

Parents won't cooperate with buying insurance, but push come to shove, if they need it, me and my brothers will be the ones taking care of them.

My mother is 77, in good health. Lincoln financial offered her the following for $100k payment today: $175k life insurance policy and $250k of long term care insurance. That sounds like a good deal to me, is it?

Family member had cervical cancer in about 1997, was treated and had no recurrences. Someone who works on legal issues for elderly indicated that long-term care insurers will blackball anyone who ever had serious cancer, even though risk is not above average now. Is that true? Or will some deny her and others raise rates? This has nothing to do with health insurance, just long-term care insurance.

It's a difficult to get started to buy Long Term Insurance , it's expensive and maybe will never use it. Life Insurance at least you know you will die sooner or later. Last year I took out a life insurance policy on myself so that if something happens to me my mother would have a decent amount of money to live on and not have to worry. She can't work because of medical conditions and only receives SSI. Whenever she gets to the point that I can no longer care for her, the options won't be very good for where she can go and what kind of care she can receive. I was wondering if there is such a thing as a long-term care policy (kind of like life insurance) that I can purchase on her behalf.
