My car insurance is up for renewal at the end of this month. I am going through the comparison websites at the moment but there are so many on offer now. Plus each one is coming up with very different results.

None, in my opinion. The quotes aren’t REAL. What they’re doing, is harvesting your personal information, and they’ll sell it as leads to agents – hundreds of agents – who will then try contacting you to sell insurance to you.
You’re best off using a local agent. An independent agent can get multiple quotes from multiple carriers, all at the same time.
You can contact your agent and ask him for the comparison. Secondly you can go online and compare the quote insurance quotes online, compare auto insurance coverage, compare the discounts and auto insurance rates. The online comparison is given from the auto insurance companies themselves since they are changing their marketing techniques and want to save on their operating surplus. These quotes are reliable, provided all the information given is correct.
