She works full time but her employer charges an outrageous amount of money for . I know there are many many young people who don't have health insurance, mostly because of the cost of high . But my daughter really needs it cause she has some health issues that will stay with her for a lifetime.

Oh, what a dilemma. Truthfully, it’s probably her best bet to get it through work, even if it is more expensive. Anything she is going to pay for is going to not cover much or be very expensive since she has health issues. If she didn’t have those issues, I’d say just get some catastrophic coverage with a few doc visits a year and that’s it, but I don’t know if that’s enough for her. Good luck!

Depending on where you live, you might want to check about state pool coverage (new, since Health Reform). There are some conditions she would have to meet to qualify but may be worth a try. Do Google search for example “your state” high risk pool. If your daughter has health issues it would be probably waste of time to apply for private health ins. It would either be too expensive or they would say that she has pre-existing condition that they won’t cover. What ever you do, if she currently has insurance don’t discontinue that for her until you get card from other if it’s something better. Good luck.
