How Do You Work With Long Term Care Insurance Companies?

by Pennsylvania Insurance on July 31, 2011

I own an in-home elderly care agency, however, due to the fact that the services are expensive, most clients can't pay out of pocket, so I need to begin billing their company.

I'm wondering, what is the process to begin working and getting paid from long term insurance companies?

It is incumbent upon the policy holder or his responsible party to file a claim with the insurer. In the case of most policies, a physician will need to certify the need for care (usually two ADLs). Also, the policy must cover in-home care. Many still do not, or they allow a decreased benefit.
