How do I put life insurance on my childs father?

by Insurance Pennsylvania on July 20, 2010

I’m wanting to put life insurance on my son’s father. He is my beneficiary and I just feel that it is necessary for us to have this! Ive been searching the internet and I cant seem to find what I’m looking for. Does anyone have a suggestion on which company I should use or how I need to go about this… I got my insurance through my job so I really don’t know how to go about getting life insurance on someone else!

He has to take out a policy and indicate your child as the beneficiary.

There are many life insurance agents. Most companies that carry auto, home, or health will also carry life products. The exam requirements are usually stricter if it is not through an employer, but I am sure any agent would love your business. You can own the policy and make the payments, but he will have to go and sign paperwork too since he is the insured person. Check with your or his auto or home insurance agents because you may be able to receive discounts.

You talk to a local agent. The other person needs to fill out the application and sign it, and agree to you being the policy owner. Then they release their medical records to the life insurance company, and submit to a paramedical exam with blood, urine, and saliva samples.

So, you need their permission and cooperation to do this!

You can’t do that without his concurrence. HE should be the one getting the policy.
