I pay for my mohter’s housing and other living expenses, definitely more than half of her expenses. She is 62 and currently has social security benefits. She also get about $9000 per year from her long term disability insurance she had with her old employer, a goverment agency. Can I claim her as my dependent?

When my son was living with us he was involved in an altercation with a neighbor. That neighbor is now suing us via our homeowners policy for injuries he sustained as my son was defending himself. No arrests were made, but the police were called. If the insurance company decides to pay the claim, now that my son has his own home, will my insurance company try to recoup their money by suing my son?

She works full time but her employer charges an outrageous amount of money for health insurance. I know there are many many young people who don’t have health insurance, mostly because of the cost of high insurance premiums. But my daughter really needs it cause she has some health issues that will stay with her for a lifetime.

If you have been on unemployment for almost a year and your unemployment has now expired and a month or so later you become disabled can you receive disability insurance? Any help would be appreciated. Over the weekend, i had a pipe/hose break and flooded my kitchen overnight. I know we need to make a claim with homeowners insurance. My friend has a term life insurance policy that is less than 2 years old. She entered the hospital recently for a newly diagnosed bipolar disorder and had admitted to thoughts of suicide. Within 2 months of her stay and diagnosis, her term life insurance policy was canceled by the insurance company for reasons of risk. Can they legally do this? I read the policy, but am unclear whether they have the right to do this. Thanks.

I’ve been looking at several different car insurance companies to compare rates and services. I’ve never had a claim in the past, but I was wondering if anyone had positive/negative feedback they’d be willing to share about any specific companies and how they handled a claim. My friend was in an auto accident, and the health insurance from the auto insurer is her primary health insurance for the accident. She also has regular health insurance from another company. If the auto insurer pays 80% of her auto accident medical costs, and her secondary insurance normally pays 70% of her medical costs, then how would the secondary insurance treat a $1000 bill, for example? The auto insurer pays $800 of the $1000 bill (80%), but how much would the secondary health insurer pay?
